|
|
1. Thanks for the awesome time had by all at this years noreaster (Oh Jesus!!!)
2. I am currently pricing out a new machine and right now for some reason I am blanking on how much ram is really needed within the machine itself, it will be used for gaming mostly? I am thinking 4GB is enough but have looked into 6 and 8 as well. what is really needed for an excellent gaming machine for 2-3 years? _________________

| Generally the more ram you have the better things will run, so go with the 8GB. |

I've got 4gb of memory and I can run most things just fine. Bad Company 2 boggs down every now and then but I'm not sure if it's a memory issue or something else. _________________

Just remember you will need to have a 64-bit Operating System in order for your machine to use more than 3gb. Here is a good page to outline what OS handles how much memory.

Seriously, does Apple even allow you to chose? I thought you had your choice of fruity colors or aluminum? _________________ http://noreaster.lpane.net |

This is the correct answer. You will notice a larger difference in performance if you have 3x 2GB than 2x 4GB sticks due to DDR3 being triple channel. Just make sure you put the memory in the correct slots! _________________ postCount++;
