Subject says it all, but a big thank you to all the staff and volunteers on the LPANE crew and of course a huge thanks to EvilTree and Intel for being their sponsor, all of whom made this year's 2010 a reality!!
While the crowd may have been a little sparser than in past events (College graduates you really have your priorities backwards, LAN parties > graduation) it was still a very enjoyable experience playing games and knowing the cost of my ticket went to charity!
Thank you to Shriner's for the availability of their location and their hospitality once again this year.
Hope everyone had a great time!

While the attendance was down this year, I think it ended up, at least by appearances sake, that it was a more "relaxed" event.
Thanx to the LPANE staff for running the event so smoothly, to Evil Tree for pulling this together with Intel (can you say tireless hours through today as well?) and a HUGE thanx to both CPU Magazine and Intel for running their case mod contest! _________________

This definitely seemed like the most smoothly run Nor'easter so far... thanks to all the staff and volunteers, you guys did an awesome job.
I also wanted to mention that the mystery/scavenger hunt game was totally awesome and very impressive, especially given the short amount of time the organizers had to pull it together. Good job guys!
Thanks to all of the sponsors as well... the array of prizes was amazing and winning something was an unexpected bonus. That power supply will have a good home in my next build. _________________

...minor detail. It was definitely nice to win it and notice all the LPANE staff on/around the stage for the award. It's always more fun getting something like that when you have good friends in attendance. Thanx. _________________

O M G - You mean I actually won something through the raffle after all!??!?
Wow, even after the LAN is done and over with, the fun keeps on coming!
For anyone wondering....I stayed late of my own volition to help break down as I usually do every year. Didn't expect to receive anything, didn't ask what needed to be done - I just started breaking down cleared off tables and stacking them with the rest. Just wanted to give a helping hand for all the great events the LPANE crew has brought us every years.
Pissboy came up and handed me a raffle ticket, I thought he was rubbing in the fact I haven't won squat for like four years prior, but he was holding another raffle for those of us who stayed and helped out.
Don't know what I won, but I don't really care - I didn't stay late in the hopes of getting anything extra - just wanted to do what I could to help.
EvilTree also gave out some t-shirts and more USB thumsticks, I know another couple also got some too!
So thanks, again. You guys and gals (and OneMansLady) really rock! _________________ No Surrender, No Retreat.

Yeah it was a bit smaller, but that just added to the smoothness and ease that we saw throughout the day and night.
I want to thank the entire Lpane and Intel staff for this lan. I would also like to thank you guys for the wonderful and generous offer that you have extended to me. It means more than my incredibly tired and worn out body and mind could express. Looking back on it, i think my look was somewhere between discust and exhaustion, but that was just the lack of sleep talking. I am already extremely excited for the next lan event and am glad for all you guys do.
I also want to thank IV and the other pro cod4 players for setting me up. I don't play the game often but with the tips and tricks i was shown, i can see myself exploring the game a bit more and looking at my play style in other games to see where my improvements lie.
I also want to give a big F*** Y** to rt 93 and boston, who the eff on a sunday night does construction on the interstate in not one but 3 places. I left at about 8:45 from the restaurant, and got home at 11pm, complete bs... But i made it through, and whatever fatigue i was feeling was completely worth it.
I especially want to thank spazz for sharing smokes with me and keeping me occupied, i truly do feel during our conversation with the ""Marine"" that i was in a parrallel universe. apparently rhode islanders are aliens or something. I also want to thank noxin, and evil tree, especially evil tree for giving me a special key that led to a special place . you guys were really accomodating and i was glad i could find you guys to chat with and have a little bit of fun.
I'd also like to extend to you guys my newfound skills as a bike thief, i believe that i have perfected the art of picking kensington locks and plan on starting a business out of it... if you need a nice moutain or road bike let me know.
Thank you all once again, the players, staff, my friends and clansmen from HGC that got us into third for cod4.
Oh and P.s. Thank you Sniperbob for not letting me show up to the lan a week late, and for helping me get a spot as a volunteer. Oh and thank you for leaving me your sleeping bag?? _________________ I have candy... in a van... |

Thanks to everyone who kept me entertained and helped me during my time of need. I was planning on leaving early Sunday morning, but stuck around after getting into conversation with eviltree and a few other at the entrance desk. That was an interesting conversation, to say the least (should of took the stick home as a souvenir. It was still on the table after I checked out around 2PM)
One of the more memorable LANs I've been to...even without a usable computer _________________

This LAN seriously did go extremely smooth. I feel bad for everyone who decided not not attend, or who wasn't able to. It was such a great time. I haven't won a single thing since the very first LANChelms I ever went to, and even that was simply free admission to the next LAN (which can probably explain my addiction to them now). I walked away from this with a blu-ray player, monitor, and case for the rig I'm going to be building this summer. So a big thanks to all the sponsors and my friends for giving me their stuff they won!
Also, I'd personally like to thank every single person who had our whatisthis.net game up on their screens at any point in time during the event, even to just check it out. It was such a joyous feeling to see so many of you enjoying all the work we put into making that experience as fun as we could for you. Words cannot express the satisfaction you brought to me and the other GDG guys with all the excitement it generated.
Oh, and this might not be the best place to plug it, but what the heck. The GDG runs a LAN party in November. Our first one was last November and we had about 30 people and a great weekend. We're starting preparations for this upcoming November now and are hoping to have an even better time, and even more people. If you're interested in that, sign up to our mailing list on http://gdg.uml.edu/lan/ _________________ postCount++;

I was going to make this suggestion to the guys who ran the ARG...guess you lived that prize! I must say, I wish I had gone to that website when I saw it and tried to solve it too!
Mattu, can you remove last year's date and at least put in a "November 2010 exact date TBD" message on the GDG page? I thought it was really 14&15th before I realized that was for last year.
I would still make prize suggestions however, for a few more prizes to be won:
Free admission to the next event
Automatic Upgrade to and/or Free Premium Seat (Random Early bird signup maybe? Though not good for groups/clans)
Half-Dozen Donuts + Coffee
If there was a safe and fair way of holding a few contests before the next event, some of the above could even be prizes for it. Good way to keep interest going and the forums busy during the other 362 days of the year. _________________ No Surrender, No Retreat.
