It's good to get it out while it's fresh. This was my first year on staff, as a junior staff member, and I was in charge of the LPANE game servers. I believe that server administration and gaming is obviously a really important part of the LAN, and I'd like to know how you think it went, and any areas or ways that we could improve.
I tried to implement some variety this year by selecting free games for Game of the Hour. The idea was to let people take a break from the Counter Strike, Call of Duty, and Team Fortress 2 and possibly enjoy a new game and new experience.
I also tried to keep servers full by starting them on demand, instead of just leaving them up and possibly empty the entire event. I had a Teamspeak 3 server running to facilitate this.
Thanks for your time, I hope you enjoyed the event and got to play the games you wanted. _________________ Nor'Easter Junior Staff |

Nick,
You did a very good job, despite my teasing you. But why in the world weren't you this on top of servers for the last GDG LAN?!?! XD
Anyway, we have someone else doing servers this year (you weren't at our meeting to decide positions), but if you'd interested in helping stop by sometime when we meet this summer, or e-mail me.
Good job again, the servers seemed to go over really well. _________________ postCount++;

Being able to talk to you through Team Speak was an excellent idea! It made reporting server issues and making requests a breeze and allowed people who were interested in gaming together communicate in one place.
I was so happy that you were able to organise Insurgency and Pirates Vikings and Knights, two games that never before were played by any decent amount of people until this year thanks to your efforts. |

A dead hard drive makes it kind of hard to do stuff. I'll get in contact with you. _________________ Nor'Easter Junior Staff |
