So I really liked using bar codes to mark things of value for individuals in attendance of the 1020 Noreaster. The only quam I have is that the actual stickers/labels used to affix the printed bar codes to items DID NOT remove easily. Half the sticker is still on my xbox360 controller and the glue is creating havoc on my hands. I even stuck the stickers to my shirt a couple times before sticking it to items in an attempt to lower the overall adhesion of the sticker.
I know the system was provided by Intel, and maybe someone should get back to them and have them brainstorm some other sort of sticker material that isn't going to be so cumbersome to whatever it is stuck to. I'm sure that people who have gone out and spend thousands on custom cases/paint etc do not wish to be dealing with sticker adhesive because they attended a two-day LAN event.
Thats my 2cents rant. I will probably go out and get some Goo-Gone later this week, but just thought of the complications of using such a sticker in this process. |

you gotta peel very slowly. Stickers came off all my stuff w/ no problems leaving no glue behind. _________________

Go outdoors with a syringe filled with rubbing alcohol, butane, gasoline, or some other liquid that evaporates really fast. Start one side of the sticker, and keep peeling while applying very small amounts of liquid underneath. This usually mucks with the adhesion, and lets you take the sticker off in one piece.
I've had mixed results with goo gone/WD40. Some people also recommend using a blow dryer or hot water. But obviously computer equipment can be sensitive to heat and being washed. _________________ Nor'Easter Junior Staff |

So next time, you can keep using the same barcode stickers, you'll just have to include a can of Honda Spray Cleaner in the swag bags. _________________

I think EvilTree should personally supply all those affected with brand new Intel-based top of the line computers.
Can I get a second on the motion?
I haven't even had a moment to try and take the stickers off, but yes...goo gone, like duck tape, can do anything. _________________ No Surrender, No Retreat.
